Valentine's Day 2009

I'm not even sure where to begin with the description of my Valentine's Day 2009! Fun doesn't seem to be a good enough word.  With all 9 of us together in one house, on top of fun games...I haven't laughed that much in a long time.  Mamma Fus always knows how to plan a fun game night! :-)

It started with a 3 ft grinder from Subway, half Turkey half Ham (YUUUUM!!!).  We originally were going to do a game first because Micah usually goes to bed around 8 and Nick didn't get there till 7:30ish and the game was a loud scavenger hunt...so game first and then eat while Micah is sleeping.  However, Micah had taken a very nice 2 1/2 hour nap late in the day so he was pretty wide awake come 7:30 so we were able to eat first.

This was right before the scavenger hunt!

Slowly after eating we started our "scavenger hunt" that lead to our prize!  We started with a card coming in the mail on Friday afternoon saying "This is where we were engaged." (Now everyone had something different on their card that indicated something about their relationship).  So the next card was found under the couch downstairs in the basement because that was where Nick had hide the engagement ring right before he proposed!  The next one said "The dishes are done, house is clean, the kids in bed.  I think I'll sink into a nice, hot..." (which was found in the shower).  The 3rd card said "Blonde hair, blue eyes, 2'3" (and that was on the little Micah-man)!  The third said "It's freezing in the house! Let's go to the only place to get warm quickly!" (this one was located in dad's office because he has a fire place in there and it was stuck to the back of our wedding picture he has on his mantle.)  The 4th card said "The name of this room belies it's temperature." (This being in the sunroom because during the winter that room is SO cold!)  The 5th and said "Do or do not, there is no try..." (and this one being under the huge Yoda Nick had on one of his shelves down in the basement back when he lived at his parents!)  The final card was attached to a present that VERY generous! :-)

So at this point Micah was getting cranky so Jess and Dave went upstairs to feed him and put him to sleep while the rest of us sat down to have the YUMMY desert of Monkey Balls!  Shortly after dessert was over we started another game called Mad Lib (Valentine's Day style).  

The name on this one was The Love Letter.  Let me just tell you, my jaw hurt after reading all of our letters we were all laughing SO hard!  And then shortly after that game we played "The Newlywed Game" and the girls and guys had to split up while the questions were asked.  Ryan and Yana won that game BUT Nick and I & Jess and Dave were tied right behind Ryan and Yana!

 

Finally we just spent some nice quality time for another hour or so and then we all headed home to spend some time with just the spouses!!! :-)

And Nick proposed to me again (this time with a very yummy tasting cherry ring!!! ;-)
