Well it has officially been 3 1/2 days since we've had the new addition to the family and it definitely has been quite the weekend!!! There are many different reasons why it has been overwhelming so my philosophy is to start from the beginning.
We got Milo from a breeder in Mount Vernon, MO (yes that is Missouri initials you see there). When it came time to ship him, there two ways in which you could do it. One was flying him, which meant that about 5-6 different people handle him as he makes his way over here (such as, the guy who brings him over the plane, the one who puts him on, the one who takes him off, the one who brings him to baggage claim and then one you hands him to us). OR we could do what is called "Puppy Ship" where only ONE person handles him because it is a business where he drives cross country 24/7 dropping off and picking up puppies on the way. Well the downfall to that is they only have to get within 60 miles of where you live in order to call you to come meet them AND it can be at any hour of the day or night.
Well, we got really lucky as far as where to meet them (ONLY A MILE DOWN THE ROAD FROM OUR HOUSE) buuuuuut not so lucky on the time, 1:30 in the morning. So by the time we got him home, it was almost 2 a.m. and at this point, Milo had been traveling for 60 hours straight stuck in a crate in a van with 15 other yelping puppies. So did you think he was going to be very conducive to being put in the cage so mommy and daddy can go to bed (seeing we had work and school in the morning). OF COURSE NOT!!! So we both ended up staying up till about 3:30 a.m. and then Nick even had to stay downstairs in a make-shift bed in front of the cage so that Milo wasn't alone and would stop whining.
So Thursday "morning" (meaning when the sun is actually in the sky) started out with two very tired people. Nick with only on an hour and half sleep and me on only 4 hours. So Nick made it through his 3.5 hours of work plus 3 hours of helping his Grandma and I made it through my 6 hours of class and then headed over to my in-laws to brag about our new addition. Well this proved to be very beneficial because it gave Cody and Milo the chance to run around ALL afternoon tiring them both out considerably. So by 10 p.m. both dogs where on their beds and sleeping and Nick and I already had the lights out.
Milo didn't wake up until 8 a.m. on Friday morning and once again we headed over to the in-laws because our brand new nephew had just made it home with Jess and Dave. Then on Saturday, I brought both dogs with me to my parents house because my mommy and I had to do something all day so my dad was baby-sitting both doggies. Well after two #2 accidents on their living room rugs, he had enough and stuck Milo outside with Cody.
And now it is Sunday, and both puppies are napping on my lap looking cute as can be (mostly because the are in fact napping)!!! HA-HA!!!
So overall, we love the new addition very much, but we definitely will never take our 8 hours of sleep for granted again!!! :-)

Milo is a cutie. But is is true, having a puppy is like having a baby in the house, in that THEY make the schedule and WE adjust to it! This one was even harder, I think, because Cody had to adjust too. But glad things are settling into some sort of routine for all 4 of you! Love, Mom
I LOVE that Milo face!!! Him and Cody are too funny together. I'm surprised both of them are still alive at this point the way they play together!
I also LOVE the new blog layout...that picture is one of the best I've seen...very creative!
ugh what a tumultuous first night and day that was...it seemed like we had gotten in over our heads for a bit there, but everything turned out ok. We love our new pup....and our old one.
